www.kiwitravelwriter.com   This is the website of a NZ based travel writer. Visit her site to read local NZ and international travel stories.

Auckland:

www.eon.co.nz   The philosophy for the Eon Design Store was to create a space that inspires innovation and where NZ designers can sell their creations. It is owned by a young female designer Angela Roper and has a superb range of home-wares, furniture, ceramics, clothing etc. They send gorgeous unique NZ designs all over the world. It is one of the shops we sometimes incorporate into our Exclusive Tours.
www.nativeagent.co.nz   This is a Maori art gallery / design store where we stop on our Urban Maori Experience. It’s a great place to buy both traditional and contemporary Maori art. Native Agent stocks Maori themed goods including traditional Maori weapons, home-wares, linen, jewellery, children’s clothing, flax weaving, wood carvings, paintings etc. Located in funky Kingsland Village.
www.newzealandsurftours.com   Check out this company if you are interested in surfing in New Zealand. Suitable for everyone from complete beginners to experienced riders. They also do North Island snow tours during winter.

Aotearoa (NZ) wide:

www.hellsgate.co.nz   For a lush mud pool and spa experience check out these guys based in Rotorua. They also have an amazing walk through their mud pools and geothermal area- all on traditionally owned land. If you’ve got time go for a traditional Maori massage as well.
www.kaitiaki.co.nz   If you want to go white water rafting or sledgling, then check out this great Maori company. They are based in Rotorua, raft the Kaituna and the Rangatikei rivers and have one of the most experienced team of rafting guides around. Kaitiaki raft the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world!
www.maoritours.co.nz   Join this Kaikoura based Maori family for a natural and personal experience that gives deep insight into the ways of modern day Maori and their links to the environment. A real cultural exchange that’s interactive and fun.
www.mitai.co.nz   Mitai Maori Village is a family run business, based in Rotorua, which offers you an authentic cultural performance in the sacred and spiritual place owned by their ancestors for generations. The genuine hangi meal, (which you see lifted out of the ground), a waka (war canoe), the sacred freshwater spring and your only opportunity in the Rotorua area to view glowworms.
www.spaceships.tv   Spaceships - NZ Campervan Hire. Spaceships are a funky way to get around and are like a good car to drive but have more useful features than a campervan…including a CD & DVD player!
www.gloworm.co.nz   Spellbound Glowworm and Cave tours are, in our opinion, the very best available in Waitomo. This is a great tour for those that are not so adventurous, as there is no abseiling etc. You get to go into two caves, they only take a maximum of 12 people and you get to spend ages in the caves. They are a great eco tour operator, and the owner set up all the original companies in Waitomo- so is very experienced. Fantastic!
www.stray.co.nz   Stray Adventure Travel Network - flexible guided backpacker bus trips for adventurous travellers that want to get further off the beaten track and closer to the action.
www.taranakitours.com   Capture an insight into Maori culture with an interpretative tour of Taranaki and connect yourself with Taranaki’s unique Mountain to Surf landscape, activities, attractions and stories.
www.wairakeiterraces.co.nz   The Pink and White Terraces recreated in Taupo. An amazing example of a shared vision between privately owned Contact Energy and the local Maori- to redevelop the original Wairakei Terraces and geysers that were lost with the development of the Wairakei Geothermal Power Station in the 1950's.
